The portal functionality allows you to create and customize pages for your organization. This includes Homepages, Dashboard pages, and dynamic content pages such as Development Plan and resource display pages.
The portal functionality can also be used to create other content pages in the LMS. These pages could include a FAQ page or a list that contains links to commonly requested documents. Once these pages have been created, you can make them available to your users through the use of the Maintain Menu Items screen.
To create or edit a portal page, go to Portals > Administer Portal Pages in the administrative menu.
Portals are built using widgets, which are pre-set components or displays. Many widgets have configurable settings. To edit a widget's settings, go to Portals > Administer Portal Pages in the administrative menu, select the page that contains the widget, and click the Edit button in the top toolbar. In the editing view, click the Designer tab in the toolbar. Click on the widget and click the Edit button. The Settings window will open.
As you add widgets and complete each of their configurations, you can preview the completed widget on the Setup screen.
